Our wide portfolio of products uses diverse packaging solutions. The packaging materials used have a significant environmental footprint that we want to reduce. In this context we are looking for packaging solutions by material, design, process etc., that can reduce our footprint. Our interest lies in, but is not limited to, lightweight packaging, multipurpose packaging, low cost packaging materials, degradable materials, as well as low cost clear packaging materials.
Delivering fresh products, in their most natural, minimally processed, preferably all-natural form; it sounds simple but is one of the core technological challenges for Alpha Strauss. We seek processes that provide new or improved product properties, new non-thermal preservation methods and natural anti-microbials. We are also looking for technologies that enhance the shelf-life of fresh products and packaging solutions for shelf-life extension by elimination of microbial growth.
Reducing sodium content in our foods is a global issue, of concern to all leading F&B companies. We are looking for ingredients, technologies, formulations, or any other solution that provides a similar sensory profile using lower sodium content.
Enhancing the health profile of our products is one of Alpha Strauss’ core missions. It is also a technological challenge. Sugar replacement or reducing the use of sugar while maintaining the taste profile is, therefore, an ongoing challenge for our business. We are looking for innovative insights into ways to maintain product taste and mouth feel while reducing sugar content. These may be through new ingredients, raw materials, textures, behavioral insights, and/or biochemical strategies.
